الملخص

The present research tackles the concept of materials management. It
supposes that there is a big gap concerning the concept and objectives and
the advantages of materials management in industrial companies,
represented in a number of the industrial companies in Ninaveh/ Iraq. In
general , the research is an attempt to answer the following two questions:
1. Has the company’s management, under study, the knowledge of the
concept of materials management and the activities within its
responsibilities?
2. Is there an obvious picture of the company’s management, under study,
about the objectives and characteristics of materials management?

The research has considered a set of conclusions, one of its the most
important, is the existence of the activities related directly with materials in
the companies under study. In addition to the availability of the most
objectives and advantages of materials management for such execution
according to the respondent’s opinions. Based on the conclusions drawn
through the research, a number of recommendations has been put
accordingly.
