Abstract

This paper is considered as one of recent papers in the field as ISO system, which has witnessed great development in investigation.

       In this paper the researchers try to apply both the zero detect system and ISO system on the children wears factory in Mosul which belongs to the ready made clothes Establishment.

            The hypothesis of the paper is as follows, it is possible to produce with international standard specifications, and Consequently the products can be included within ISO system after which it would be possible to complete foreign products. As this paper is its field study for the period starts from 1-7-1998 to 1-10-1998. The researchers had the chance to see all the production stages and reports of the quality control section – Several meetings were also held with the production staff as an attempt to apply the above mentioned systems since the researchers believe that the application of these systems will lead to minimize the costs to a great extent.

       It has been found that it is not possible to apply the Zero defect system at the present time for a number of reasons.

         The main important reason is the difficult current situation of the embargo. It is not possible to avoid spare parts for the machines and equipment. Also it is difficult to get high standard clothes from both the local and foreign market. Accordingly the Establishment is obliged to accept poor quality clothes whether they are locally made or imported. This will naturally have an affect on the products in spite of the efficiency which the Establishment has in using the available resources through out the production stages. The Establishment is also efficient in decreasing the waste loss and damage. The obsticte which affects the productivity is the low standard of the important cloches and the other productive requirements.

          Finally the researchers put the following recommendations, It is important to carry on the existing system of the model, to review and update the clothes standard specifications according to international specifications and finally to develop the quality control data base among other recommendations.
